Movie Shots- How to Train Your Dragon 2

Image
I watched the movie How to Train Your Dragon 2. This movie is a sequel to How to Train Your Dragon, in this movie its been 5 years since Hiccup, the main character, and Toothless, his dragon, united the dragon and Vikings of Berk.  They spend their time exploring the island’s unmapped territories. During one of these adventures, Hiccup and Toothless find a secret cave filled with hundreds of wild dragons and a mysterious dragon rider who ends up being Hiccup’s long lost mother, Valka. The pair then has to battle to protect their home, Berk, from a power-hungry warrior named Drago.   This is a long shot where Hiccup encounters his mother, Valka, for the first time. He is riding Toothless up high because he is stressed and then a mysterious lady shows us and faces him. This shot has allowed men to see the greater picture and enormity of the sky because the characters: Hiccup, Toothless, Valka and her dragon alll appear to be close to each other, face to face, but yet the big clear sky sh

Comments on others' shots

AICE Media Studies Comments Zoe's Blog  1.) Dolly Shot- I really liked Zoe's dolly shot it was done so well and made me feel like I was there and traveling through the hallway, felt so real.  2.)  High Angle Shot- I loved Zoe's high angle shot because it made me feel like I was in power. I loved that it was taking high up and you could capture all the students in the courtyard and what they are doing because it just me a sense of strength and control.  3.) Point of View Shot- I enjoyed Zoe's point of view shot because I felt like I was her; at first looking at my feet as I walk and then lifts head up to look at people. I felt like a connection like if  I had stepped into her shoes and was seeing the world from her eyes.   Cayley's Blog  1.) Follow Shot- I really liked Cayley's follow shot because it made me like I was there in the scene and actually walking behind the character, being Zoe, in my opinion it felt very realistic and a rather tranquil reassuring co

Storyboard shots who? Storyboard shots Woody!

This is a pan shot. The subject of the video is my dog sitting on my bed. In order, to complete this shot, I slowly rotated the camera to the left horizontally from my night stand and bed to my desk and made sure my dog, Woody, was included.  This is an extreme close-up shot. The subject is a magnified object, which in this case is my dogs eye; it is the focal point of the shot and can be used to show great detail. In order to create this shot I just got the camera up close to my dogs eye and focused it.  This is a full shot. This shot captures the subject’s, being my dog, entire body from head to toe. In order to creat this shot I had my dog sit still and took a shot of his whole body from a farther distance.  This is an eye level shot. This shot is created to make it look as if you are looking into the subjects’ eye due to the level of the camera being positioned at the subjects’ eye level. In order to create this shot I had my dog, the subject, sit down and held the camera up to hi
